"Pedagogical Knowledge is teachers' deep knowledge about processes and practices or methods of teaching and learning. They encompass, among other things, overall educational purposes, values and aims." As such, a teachers ability to understand their students individual needs and interests as well as a teachers knowledge of how to effectively use wearable technology to facilitate student learning and knowledge acquisition within the classroom setting are necessary for wearable technologies to be considered beneficial from a pedagogical perspective.

RecordingTraditionally, students have spent a considerable amount of time taking notes in class but with the availability of devices such as google glasses they are now able to record class lectures and store them for future use. Students are also able to use wearable technologies to record what they are doing both in the class and outside of the class. This ability allows teachers to more accurately gage how students are progressing and rather than evaluating a students final product they can also evaluate the process that was used and can intervene when necessary.

Simulation
Wearable technologies have the potential to take simulation to a whole new level. They allow students to take part in the action but more importantly allow them to attempt new and more challenging tasks without having to fear that if they fail there could be serious consequences. For example, students could perform surgical procedures, tour historic villages and interact with the characters in a story, providing them with a more engaging and realistic learning experience.

CommunicationCommunication between teachers and students, between students and between parents and teachers can be much easier with the use of wearable technologies. For example, students could work together to achieve fitness goals, they can share their learning with their peers with a single click of a button and most significantly they can all participate simultaneously on focused activities/projects. Wearable devices such as apple watches also allow teachers to provide immediate feedback to students and parents from anywhere and at anytime. Ultimately, wearable devices have the ability to augment student capabilities and extend their reach.
